Soft Lockdown, Soft Hopes, Petite Dreams

Taiwan went into soft-lockdown this weekend. It's the first time my country has ever experienced anything like this since COVID-19 in 2020.

This isn't the first blog I've tried to write. I suppose I never felt like I had anything special to say. That is, until I started collaborating friends on podcasts. The agency podcasting gave me, offered me a platform to explore my thoughts in both written and verbal form.

I've been fortunate enough to talk about political issues on my Mandarin Chinese podcast #聽你慢慢說 @manman.shuo. I was able to combine my ESL work with my love for culture and female experiences on #英文聽我說 （by @opstudiostpe ) , along with their amazing group of hosts.

Now, after a whole year of phone calls, texting and eventually six months of planning, one of my best friends Phoebe and I are finally starting our own podcast, @tittietattles .

Thanks to all the wonderful people I've worked with in the podcast realm, I'm starting to get a sense of what my voice look like as an Asian woman, an ESL instructor, a scholar-in-progress, and someone who just loves to learn and share.

This blog will be a series of all the thoughts that were inspired through life, teaching, and the podcasts I've been making. Stay tuned, because I have quite a lot to say!

台灣疫情升溫，在家自主封城除了把「耍廢」這檔事發揚光大之外，當然就要趁「被放假」（非升學主義補習班教學的小感傷）的時候，替自己做點什麼。兩個禮拜除了趕論文進度、備課、追劇，還有一件事情就是替自己完成「自媒體」的小夢。

這不是我第一次嘗試寫部落格，美國人風行 MySpace 時我也有辦了帳號，無名小站、Wordpress 等平台我也寫過那種現在看了會毛骨悚然的青澀生活紀實。到美國唸書的時候也試圖要結合生活和新聞學習寫點什麼，但是寫著寫著，總是不確定自己的定位在哪裡，筆尖、指尖的溫度也日漸消退。

直到 2020 的這一年，伴隨著新冠肺炎肆虐全球的亂象，我開始和不同的朋友合作經營 podcast。從討論時事文化的 聽你慢慢說 ，到結合文化觀察、分享的英語教學的 英文聽我說 ，一次一次的， 我找到了自己的聲音。

近期，我和好閨蜜 Phoebe 一起開始經營了 Tittie Tattles 咪咪絮語，繼續從亞洲女性的角度探討流行文化。

現在，居家防疫的這幾週，我想繼續探索腦袋裡面的聲音。
